Foods that you need to bite with your front teeth
Foods like apples, celery, corn on the cob and meat with bones do not need to be completely removed from your diet, but they should be cut into small pieces so that they can be chewed with the molars.
Biting into things like ice and nuts can break wires and brackets. Popcorn has the additional problem of getting lodged in your gums behind the bracket, severely irritating them.
Sticky and sugary foods
Foods high in sugar content can cause heavy plaque buildup that can get accumulate between brackets and wires and lead to tooth decay. If you do choose to consume sweets, brush your teeth immediately after.
